Honda FG100 (old model)
If you are an avid gardener or landscaper and are sick and tired of tilling your garden by hand, then it is probably time to purchase a rototiller. You may have put off purchasing a rototiller because you feel you don’t need one that they are only for people who have 10 acre gardens. If this is what you believe, then you have probably never heard of mini rototillers. Mini tillers are basically like their big brothers, but they have smaller engines and smaller tine size and tiller width. They are great for the outdoor gardening enthusiast who has a garden too big to till by hand, but not big enough to warrant purchasing a normal rototiller. If you are already in the market for a mini rototiller, then you have probably seen a few of them advertised. Some common names that come to mind are Mantis and Honda. One of the most popular Honda rototillers is the FG100.
Since the FG100 is an older model, you can get it for amazing prices where you can find it. Even though it is slightly old, it still functions just like a new one. It features a four stroke engine for smooth tilling and no smoke. You won’t have to worry about mixing oil into the gas either. The tiller only weighs 27 pounds, which means almost anybody can handle it. The tiller pulverizes the dirt instead of other competitors which simply reel in the dirt and turn it over. Turning the dirt over simply isn’t enough when you need to cultivate large portions of land.
In addition to being used in gardens, you can use your FG100 for other applications too. You can attach a brush trimmer and use it as a weed eater or powerful lawnmower. There are certain attachments which even allow you to dig small trenches, while others allow you to remove the weeds out of your garden while sparing the plants.
If you are in the market for a mini rototiller, then look no farther than the FG100. While the model may be a little old, it is still capable of doing everything you need it to do.

When you think of Honda, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Probably cars and motorcycles right? Well did you know that Honda makes mini rototillers too? In fact, Honda makes some of the most popular mini rototillers around, with models like the FG110 and the FG100.
Honda was founded in 1948 in Japan by Soichiro Honda and Takeo Fujisawa. At first they only produced vehicles, but as time progressed their product line expanded. Today, Honda produces almost everything imaginable from automobiles, motorcycles, scooters, ATV’s, generators, robots, boat engines, jets, jet engines, car engines and lawn and garden equipment. In 2009, Honda reported an astounding 120 billion dollar revenue. While Honda is new to the rototiller market, they are already one of the most popular brands. Many people purchase Honda just because of the name, but then find out that the quality of the product is excellent too.
Honda makes some of the most popular mini rototillers around. A mini rototiller is essentially like it’s big brother, but in a scaled down version. The engines are generally smaller and the cultivating width is also smaller. You also have the option of purchasing electric models when you are looking for mini tillers. Honda makes every kind of tiller imaginable, from mini, to mid tine all the way up to rear tine tillers. Some of the popular mid tine tillers include the F220 which features the Honda GXV57 engine, adjustable depth for tilling and three-position handle. The FC600 model features the GX160 engine, a chain transmission that one forward gear, three position handle and a protective front engine guard.
For those looking for more power, consider purchasing a rear tine tiller from Honda. Rear tine tillers generally have the largest engines and the largest tines. They are capable of tilling massive amounts of land in short amounts of time. The most popular rear tine tiller from Honda is the FRC800. This model features the GX240 engine, 3 forward gears and one reverse gear and 1 foot tines for deep cultivating. Whatever your needs, Honda probably has the model that you need.
